If you want the copper shine to last, use a regular cloth (eg. old t-shirt cloth) dipped in lemon/vinegar and salt solution, and rub it well against the copper surface.

If you want to fully remove tarnish, just give it a vinegar, salt and lemon bath and scrub with a toothbrush if you need to.

If you want it to gain patina, let it stay in contact with your skin. Copper tarnishes beautifully!
